Chazen exhibit by UW’s Quanda Johnson examines anti-Black violence and its consequences

Mnookin and community partners discuss improving educational access, reducing racial disparities

In her first week on campus, Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin continues to meet with community partners in Madison and across the state. On Aug. 11 met with Madison-area leaders to discuss efforts to celebrate Black excellence and collaborate to break down barriers to education and bolster the state’s workforce.

“I’m hoping these portraits represent the need to remember the individual within the community,” Gee said. “While this is a community space, each of us has different needs and experiences and expression. So even as we think of community, I’d like us to remember that there are multiple experiences within those communities.”
