Mnookin and community partners discuss improving educational access, reducing racial disparities

In her first week on campus, Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin continues to meet with community partners in Madison and across the state. On Aug. 11 met with Madison-area leaders to discuss efforts to celebrate Black excellence and collaborate to break down barriers to education and bolster the state’s workforce.

Alex Gee: ‘This place changed my life because of who it helped my mom become’

The Rev. Alex Gee, Ph.D., and his family together hold 13 degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. It’s a legacy spanning three generations that began when his mother, Verline Gee, brought her young children to Madison to pursue a new life and new opportunities in the early 1970s.
