Waisman Center funds six internal grants to expand DEI efforts in research and clinical services

UW researcher working to shed light on the disability community’s experience during pandemic

A study found people with intellectual disabilities are almost six times more likely to die from COVID-19 than the general population. The study also pointed out the pandemic placed devastating limits on disabled individuals’ ability to receive necessary health care and support.
