‘END OF THE LINE: The Women of Standing Rock’ on WUD Social Cinema March 24 & 25

This week, the WUD Film Committee kicks of their spring Social Cinema series with the 2021 documentary END OF THE LINE: The Women of Standing Rock (trailer HERE). It tells the story of a group of indigenous women who risked their lives to stop the Dakota Access oil pipeline construction that desecrated their ancient burial and prayer sites and threatens their land, water, and very existence. In the process, they must face the personal costs of leadership, even as their own lives and identities are transformed by one of the great political and cultural events of the early 21st century.

The film will be available all-day Wednesday and Thursday, March 24th and 25th. On Thursday at 6:00 PM, we will be hosting a discussion with the film’s director, Shannon Kring.

More details about the event, include links to request a screener of the film and the Zoom link for the discussion, can be found on the Union’s event calendar HERE.
