Diverse-OT supports underrepresented students interested in Occupational Therapy

Diverse-OT is a new student group formed last semester by a couple of Education Graduate Research Scholars (Ed-GRS) to encourage and support underrepresented students interested in Occupational Therapy careers.  Please share the Diverse-OT meeting schedule and contact information below with students interested in Occupational Therapy careers.

Occupational therapy is a profession that focuses on an individual’s ability to engage in everyday activities that support meaningful participation in life. Occupational therapists work with individuals of all ages who experience difficulty or who are at risk for problems related to engagement in these everyday activities due to injury, illness, cognitive impairment, psycho-social dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, or other disorder or condition.  Employment of occupational therapists is projected to grow 27 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations US Department of Labor.

We will be holding our meetings on the following Thursday’s at 12:30: February 2, March 2, April 6 and April 27. These meetings will be held in 3150 at Medical Science Center (MSC).
