The Office of Strategic Diversity Planning and Research (OSDPR) is responsible for research, evaluation and assessment actions; leading quality improvement activities; and supporting internal and external reviews relating to diversity, equity and inclusion across the UW–Madison campus.
Key Initiatives
Diversity Inventory
OSDPR created and manages the Diversity Inventory, a searchable online database of diversity and inclusion programs, events, research, support services, and assessment on campus and in the Madison community.
Climate Surveys
OSDPR provides administrative support and analytic expertise for surveys to inform diversity, equity and inclusion planning for UW-Madison and associated units, including the student-wide Campus Climate Survey.
Campus Partnerships
OSDPR works with partners from across campus to collect and analyze data relating to the university's diversity efforts and report findings that inform strategic planning and policy making. Our partners include:
History & Mission
The Office of Strategic Diversity Planning and Research was created within the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA) in 2020 to support the DDEEA and other campus units in the planning, execution, and monitoring of efforts relating to diversity, equity and inclusion on campus as well as assessing and reporting on the impacts of those efforts on the campus community.
OSDPR supports the university’s mission to foster a more equitable, just and inclusive campus for all by:
- Supporting thought leadership and strategic planning and execution in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion
- Monitoring the implementation of the campus’s Diversity Framework and accompanying R.E.E.L. Change action plan (PDF)
- Aligning divisional offices and programs with the Strategic Priorities (PDF) of the DDEEA and the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion
