Vaccine Awareness Walk May 11 at 6 pm

This week is Dane County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Week. Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, in partnership with University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy and Madison365, aims to increase vaccine awareness among community members and healthcare professionals by addressing the historical and contemporary foundation of vaccine hesitancy and dispelling vaccine misinformation.

On Tuesday, May 11, a community COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Walk is scheduled at the Wisconsin State Capitol, and we invite YOU to join us to help promote vaccine awareness. Currently, 1 in 4 Americans do not want a COVID-19 vaccine. For some hesitant individuals, it’s a matter of not having all the facts. We will walk 4 laps around the Square with each lap representing our 4 goals during COVID-19 Awareness Week: 1) raising awareness, 2) addressing concerns, 3) tackling misinformation, and 4) encouraging an informed vaccination decision.

The COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Walk will start at 6 pm at 1 N. Pinckney St, Madison, and requires no registration. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a Get It, Got It, Good t-shirt. The idea of the slogan is once you Get the vaccine, you Got It, and then you are Good. We hope to see you and your staff at the Capitol to promote Dane County’s COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Week.
