Information session on Hate and Bias process

What exactly is a hate and bias incident, how do you report it and what happens next? Find out at an informational session on Thursday, April 7 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Concerto Room at Gordon Dining & Events Center.

“We want students, staff and faculty to be completely aware of how to report and what the process is if they or someone they know experiences an incident of hate and bias,” says Gabe Javier, assistant dean in the Division of Student Life and director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Campus Center, and a member of the campus Hate and Bias Incident Response Team.

Others who will present include representatives of University Police, the Multicultural Student Center, Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards, the Dean of Students Office, and University Housing.

Attendees will have a chance to ask questions and offer input in an effort to understand and improve the process.
