The University of Wisconsin–Madison’s (UW) Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA) proudly celebrates its 15th anniversary, recognizing a decade and a half of powering the work of community, access, and belonging on campus and beyond.
The university has a long-standing commitment to pursuing educational and inclusive excellence. In 2009, significant progress was made toward creating equitable and inclusive learning and working environments and centralizing strategic diversity efforts, leading to the establishment of the DDEEA by UW’s inaugural Chief Diversity Officer, Dr. Damon A. Williams. We serve as a central resource to campus, equipping individuals with the tools to succeed and flourish.
The DDEEA empowers the UW community by providing transformative, data-informed programs and services that promote equitable access and success for all students, faculty, and staff.
We are celebrating the DDEEA’s 15th anniversary year-round, marking the milestone with a special 15th Anniversary Reception after Day One of Diversity Forum, November 13, from 4–6 p.m. at Union South. All are welcome to attend. We look forward to being with you in community and celebrating the DDEEA’s rich history!
