The Indigenous EcoWell Initiative in the School of Human Ecology is looking for five Indigenous beadwork artists from the Madison area to provide demonstrations during a beading event on Oct. 13. The event will be at the Arts + Literature Laboratory, 111 S. Livingston Street, Suite 100, from 4 to 8 p.m.
The event will showcase Indigenous artists and their beadwork and teach about the importance of beadwork as a healing method. Participating artists will not have to provide supplies but should bring works highlighting their talent and any current works in progress demonstrating beading techniques.
If you are interested in being a spotlighted Indigenous beadwork artist, please fill out this form. Event organizers will provide the selected artists with a $500 honorarium.
