When Sunisa Lee won gold in women’s all-ground gymnastics, it was a powerful moment for Hmong Americans, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports. Lee, who is from St. Cloud, Minnesota, is the first Hmong-American on any U.S. Olympic team. Caitlin Yang, a rising junior and member of the Hmong American Student Association, shared her excitement and her hope that Lee will inspire women to “find who they are and what they are capable of and know that they are capable of it.”
