DIP RAFFLE GIVEAWAY WINNER ANNOUNCED: WEEK 19

Congratulations to Susan Nossal, the randomly-selected winner of the Week 19 DIP Raffle Giveaway, who has been awarded a gift bag of items donated by the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Educational Achievement (DDEEA).

Thank you to Susan for inputting an initiative for the Physics Learning Center (PLC). The PLC Program provides a supportive learning community for students studying introductory physics. Students work together in small group learning team sessions and practice problem solving and discuss key concepts from their courses. Study groups meet twice a week and are led by trained undergraduate Peer Mentor Tutors and staff. Students also have access to extra study materials and exam review sessions. The PLC primarily works with students in Physics 103, 104, 207, and 208. A small program also runs in the Fall Semester for students taking the Physics in the Arts course, most of whom are from the First Wave Interest Group courses. The PLC works with campus partner programs (such as CAE, PEOPLE, CeO, First Wave, Posse, CS/PKS Programs) to reach out to students who may feel more isolated in their large introductory physics courses.

As always, we appreciate your continued support! We cannot do it without you!
