Challenges of Former Foster Youth in Postsecondary Education

Date: Friday, March 11, 2016

Time: 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM

Location: 198 Education Building

Address: 1000 Bascom Mall

Join us for a discussion with Jacob Gross, University of Louisville, examining the challenges of former foster youth in postsecondary education. Despite being among the most disadvantaged groups with respect to college access and success in the United States, former foster youth remain a nearly invisible population in postsecondary education research. In this session, we will discuss national trends in postsecondary educational attainment and facilitate a conversation on how to support these students on their paths through college.\

This event is part of the Furthering College Access and Opportunity spring speaker series, hosted by the Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education (WISCAPE) and cosponsored by the Center for Academic Excellence, the Wisconsin Collaborative Education Research Network, and the Wisconsin HOPE Lab.

Though an RSVP is not required to attend this event, please let us know you’re coming on Facebook and invite your friends! Contact: Kari Dickinson, kadickinson@wisc.edu
