Colleagues, Alumni and Friends:
As you all know, our administrative evolution required a pause in August. Now that we’re up and running stronger and more focused than ever, we plan to join the larger movement to re-establish a Multicultural Badger Homecoming Tradition. In partnership with several groups across campus, we have planned a full weekend of events designed to reunite multicultural Badger alumni, their friends and families to “bring the victory home” in the truest sense of the word. Every graduate, every job, every career, every child directly and indirectly lifted to a brighter future brings the victory home. Likewise, “Varsity” applies to every referral, reference, hire and post-undergraduate pursuit of multicultural UW Badgers. We have much to celebrate and reflect on.
So…we are hosting the closing dance and reception for Multicultural Homecoming 2013, which we hope you will plan to attend, as well as spread the word:
An Evening on the Town: Multicultural Alumni Soiree
Featuring Award-Winning Music Producer & Deejay Greg “Jinx” Doby
Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013
Valued Inclusive Partners (VIP) Reception: 8-9 p.m.
The Soiree: 9 p.m. to midnight
Overture Center Promenade Hall and Lounge
Dress to Impress, free admission, cash bar, music, dancing, food and fun

This outreach event is pivotal in developing a cross-generational network of alumni and ally mentors and contacts for our students as they work to graduate, secure pre-professional training like internships, and ultimately find employment. The University of Wisconsin-Madison also benefits from the support and affirmation of our work and its result throughout the broader community. Finally, we will position ourselves to reap the benefits of drawing increased sponsorship, partnership and funding when we remember that inclusive excellence also applies to the relationships we foster with the communities we serve, draw from and live in.
That said, we want to share joyous Badger Pride – with a purpose – through a concerted effort to get together and have some fun for this year’s Homecoming Weekend. Please forward to your friends and colleagues!
