Multicultural Homecoming 2022 Events
We Are Here: A Journey Thru Activism with and for LGBTQ+ Communities at UW–Madison
- Date: Tuesday, Oct. 18

- Location: Wisconsin Historical Society, 816 State Street
Join the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center (GSCC) and the Public History Project for this exploration of activism and organizing with and for LGBTQ+ communities at UW-Madison from the 1990s to now. Be a part of recognizing LGBT History Month and part of the GSCC’s 30th-anniversary festivities.
Laughter is Medicine Native Comedy Night and Reception

Join us for an evening of laughter and community gathering hosted by the Cooweeja Native and Indigenous Affinity Group at the Play Circle Theater during UW–Madison’s Homecoming week. This fun-filled evening will include a Native comedy show featuring internationally known Native comedians Marc Yaffee and Janelle Niles, with music provided by a live DJ. An alumni and community networking reception will follow with light bites and refreshments at Tripp Commons in Memorial Union.
Black Badgers Alumni Homecoming Happy Hour

Join the WAA’s African American Affinity Group at a happy hour reception as we kick off Homecoming weekend! Alumni and friends will be welcomed back to campus to reconnect and enjoy an evening of fun, with complimentary drinks and appetizers sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association.
Multicultural Homecoming Yard Show

Watch members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) showcase some of their newest step, stroll, and salute routines. These performances are part of a tradition that turns up the excitement of UW Homecoming and highlights the importance of each council. Get ready to watch the yard and experience an amazing show! And learn more about NPHC and MGC now. Registration is requested as space is limited.
Divine Nine Plaza Kickback

- Location: Divine Nine Garden Plaza, East Campus Mall
Come kick it on the yard with the Divine Nine! It’s the first of what’s sure to become a new tradition celebrating the history and contributions of the Black fraternities and sororities that form the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) at UW–Madison. This event will include light refreshments and time to engage and reconnect with alumni and friends. You’ll also enjoy the chance to view and take photos of the new plaza that highlights the unity and legacy of the NPHC on campus. Hosted in collaboration with the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
Multicultural Homecoming Tailgate and Watch Party

- Location: Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St.
Connect with UW alumni, students, staff, and faculty before the Homecoming game versus Purdue at this spirited tailgate party. Then, stick around to root for the Badgers in a comfortable, spacious setting.
Thanks to growing popularity, this year’s tailgate and watch party is set to expand to allow attendees to mix, mingle, and cheer on the Badgers from inside the Pyle Center, One Alumni Place rooftop, and the Pyle Center Courtyard. Get ready to enjoy a buffet, signature drink, 360 photo booth, two DJs curating our Badger vibe, variety of games from Mahjong, Spades, Jenga, and more! Plus, learn more about the Public History Project (PHP) and ways to share your Badger story.
