On Thursday, Oct. 26, Frederick Douglass, Frida Kahlo, and Maya Angelou will mingle with the public at the University Club, 803 State St. The room will overflow with historical figures thanks to Night of the Living Humanities, a pre-Halloween benefit for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Odyssey Project.
Join us at Night of the Living Humanities
What: A benefit for the UW Odyssey Project
When: Thursday, October 26, 5-7pm, 2017
Where: University Club, 803 State St. in Madison, Wisconsin (map)
Your gift to the Odyssey Project helps break a cycle of generational poverty by providing a college jumpstart to adults facing significant financial barriers. This year, proceeds go to Onward Odyssey, which supports more than 400 graduates of our two-semester program as they pursue college degrees and other dreams.
At this event, you can:
- Meet Odyssey students, alumni, staff, and board members dressed in costumes inspired by the Odyssey Project curriculum. Look for Abraham Lincoln, Toni Morrison, the Brontë sisters, and others, and chat with the students who bring these characters to life.
- If you’d like, come costumed as a writer, literary character, philosopher, musician, artist, or historical figure. There will be prizes!
- Enjoy appetizers generously donated by the University Club.
