Dadao Hou is an Institutional Policy Analyst III in the Office of Affirmative Action Planning and Programming (OAAPP). He also serves as the Affirmative Action Officer for UW–Madison, leading the affirmative action program for the institution in collaboration with campus stakeholders.
Under his leadership, OAAPP has grown beyond compliance reporting, expanding its footprint to workplace equity, diversity, and inclusion service and consultation. He uses his expertise in assessment and analytics, outreach and engagement, and learning and development to support institutional efforts in creating a welcoming and inclusive community.
A native of Suzhou, China, he earned his bachelor’s degrees in mathematical statistics and sociology from Peking University, his master’s degree in sociology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and his Ph.D. in sociology from Texas A&M University.
