Apply for the Udall Native American Congressional Internship

The Udall Foundation’s Native American Congressional Internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain professional leadership experience in Washington, D.C.

The fully-funded, ten-week summer internship in Washington, D.C., offers distinctive opportunities for Native American and Alaska Native students who are interested in learning more about the federal legislative process while gaining an insider’s view of the government’s unique trust relationship with Tribes. Interns work in congressional and agency offices where they have opportunities to research legislative issues important to Tribal communities, hone their legal research and writing skills, and network with public and Tribal officials and Tribal advocacy groups.

The Foundation seeks candidates who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities, and an interest in working with Native American issues and policy. Interns are provided round-trip airfare, lodging, per diem, and an educational stipend. The application deadline is January 31, 2019.

There aslo will be Facebook Live broadcasts to discuss the internship program, provide helpful information and application tips, and answer questions from viewers. The next live broadcast will be Wednesday, November 14th at 3 pm EST and will focus on applying for the internship and getting started with the process.
